Meet Olivia

AboutOlivia-02-BW3-TransparentBg

Hello there! My name is Olivia Davenport, and I was finally diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (Lupus) in 2012. Like many others with Lupus, I was showing signs and symptoms of this illness for many years before the truth came out. In fact, I suffered for over 20 years.

I was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC. I was a healthy, athletic kid for the most part, but I did get the flu like clockwork in February every year, even throughout my high school years.

Throughout my adult years, I managed to bounce back for the most part after many episodes of severe to life-threatening illnesses that sidelined me at different times. I never thought they were connected in any way, but now I know better.

I wrote the book, Live a Beautiful Life with Lupus: Habits and Rituals for Thriving with An Autoimmune Disease—Body, Mind, and Spirit, to share my journey from living a life of unknown illnesses to discovering the truth and finding the courage to thrive with an incurable autoimmune disease.

Since writing the book, I’ve suffered a few Lupus-related medical episodes, including a brief hospital stay in the cardiac unit. But, as anyone with Lupus will tell you, that’s just how we live. Who knows what the future holds, but I’m planning to live my life with Lupus in the most beautiful way possible, finding joy and inspiration in sharing even more of what I learn with my readers here at www.liveabeautifullifewithlupus.com and on my original blog, www.lupusdiary.com.

Oh, and by the way Hubby and I share our life with our odd-eyed cat, Kitty-Witty in Reno, NV.
