Incurable and unpredictable, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, or Lupus, is an autoimmune disease known for its difficulty to treat and its penchant for disrupting lives—even in the mildest of cases. But with the habits and rituals of Live a Beautiful Life with Lupus, author and Lupus patient, Olivia Davenport shows how a path to a better quality of life is possible.
Writer and Lupus patient, Olivia Davenport wrote Live a Beautiful Life with Lupus to help Lupus patients adapt to a life of uncertainty, explaining the disease and its impacts and showing them how to work with their Lupus-altered body, mind, and spirit to achieve balance and harmony. Specifically, the book helps by:
1) Explaining how a holistic body-mind-spirit approach to overall health helps us get closer to the goal of living beautifully;
2) Explaining what it is to live with Lupus by defining the disease itself, separating fact from fiction, and going into detail about how Lupus affects each dimension of our being—the body, the mind, and the spirit.
3) Offering hope that by working systematically through a framework of habits and rituals designed to soothe the Lupus body, strengthen the Lupus mind, and nurture the Lupus spirit, a path to a better life is possible.
4) Sharing a powerful tool that she developed will help track life with Lupus holistically, enabling patients to communicate better with their doctors about how Lupus is affecting their lives….and more.
